Veterans Day & Let’s Complete Our Shared Mission to Save Memorial Park
Dear Friends,
On this Veterans Day, I want to take a moment to honor and thank all the brave men and women who have served our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and love of country remind us what it means to stand up for what we believe in and to protect what we hold dear.
Because of our veterans, we enjoy our freedom and the right to vote in our great democracy. On January 13th, there will be a special election to enact new laws to protect our parks and public land, including Memorial Park that was dedicated to WWII veterans. For most of this past year, our city leadership was on a path towards bulldozing Memorial Park. We now know that Memorial Park as well as all of our parks in Boca will not be safe until the Save Boca charter and ordinance amendments become law.
Vote on the January 13th special election to safeguard Memorial Park, dedicated to WWII veterans, as well as all of our parks throughout Boca Raton.
As we look ahead to January 13th, when voters will have the chance to pass into law the Save Boca ordinance and charter amendments, let’s remember the spirit of service and sacrifice that defines this day. Together, we can finish what we started — ensuring that our children and grandchildren inherit a city that values community over profit, people over politics, and preservation over short-term gain.
To every veteran and military family — thank you. Your example guides us and your courage inspires us to keep fighting for what’s important.
With gratitude and respect,
Jon Pearlman
