Singer’s Congressional Run, Walter Duke States Terra is Their Client, and Ballot Question Updates

SINGER ANNOUNCES CONGRESS RUN ON HEELS OF ATTEMPT TO SELL OUT CITY

Singer announced this week that he will be running for Congress.  Many speakers at Council Meetings this year questioned why the agreement with Boca Raton City Center, LLC did not contain the standard clause that prohibits campaign contributions from the developer to officials for a period of three (3) years.  Nobody on the Council, and certainly not the Mayor, ever responded with a desire to include such a clause.

Without this clause in the agreement, Boca Raton City Center LLC, Terra, and Frisbie are not barred from making contributions to Singer’s upcoming Congressional campaign, a huge conflict of interest.  Boca Raton is within the 23rd Congressional District for which he is running.

Singer announced his Congressional run this week on the heels of his attempt to sell out Boca Raton.

Despite thousands of signatures on the Save Boca petition and hundreds that attended Council meetings over the past year to protest and speak, the Mayor and the City Council have continued to push forward the project.  There appears to be no limit to how far they will go, including passing through slanted ballot language to voters that was written with “extensive drafting and review with our Partner”—the developer—as per a November 21st email sent by the city lawyer Joshua Koehler to the Mayor and Council members.

WALTER DUKE IS A COMPROMISED APPRAISER: ADMITS THAT TERRA IS THEIR CLIENT

Thanks to the many requests that were made last week to the Council, Walter Duke admitted: “Terra is a client of our firm.

Walter Duke also made a statement that they “have not worked with Frisbie directly,” yet did not answer whether they worked indirectly with Frisbie.

Given what’s surfaced, please follow up with the City Council by requesting:

Has Walter Duke conducted an appraisal or done work for appraisals of any of the government campus properties (PCNs: 06-43-47-19-31-005-0280, 06-43-47-19-31-005-0290, 06-43-47-19-31-005-0340, 06-43-47-19-31-003-0010, 06-43-47-19-31-003-0120, 06-43-47-19-31-005-0360, 06-43-47-19-31-001-0010, 06-43-47-19-31-002-0010, 06-43-47-19-00-000-5010, 06-43-47-19-15-001-0010, Portion of Tract “A,” Library Commons as described in the Interim Agreement)  for any entities — including but not limited to Boca Raton City Center, LLC — that Terra and/or Frisbie have any ownership in?  What properties has Walter Duke appraised/done work for appraisals in the past for Terra and also what properties is Walter Duke currently appraising/doing work for appraisals for Terra?  What properties has Walter Duke appraised/done work for appraisals in the past indirectly for Frisbie and also what properties is Walter Duke currently appraising/doing work for appraisals for Frisbie indirectly (please list names of entities that Frisbie had/has any ownership in that were involved)?

BALLOT QUESTION DOES NOT INCLUDE WORDS "GOVERNMENT CAMPUS" OR "TERRA/FRISBIE"

As we all know, the ballot question is heavily slanted and reads like a sales-pitch for the developer.  In addition, the city lawyer—working alongside Terra/Frisbie to draft the question—decided to avoid key recognizable terms associated with the project that are known throughout Boca: “Government Campus” and “Terra/Frisbie.”

For most of the past year, the City of Boca was informing citizens about the project by referring to it as the “Government Campus” and “Terra & Frisbie” were the names presented in marketing communications and emails from the City.

The ballot question being posed to residents on March 10th has no mention of Government Campus or Terra/Frisbie in it.  The ballot question references “Boca Raton City Center, LLC." There is a reference to a “Lease of Downtown City Land” and a “walkable neighborhood” but no mention of the “Government Campus.”

Please spread the word to friends, family and neighbors about this misleading ballot question and tell them to simply "VOTE NO."

VOTE NO ON MARCH 10th and please spread the word!

VOTE NO ON MARCH 10TH. BE WARY OF THE MISLEADING AND SLANTED BALLOT LANGUAGE!
