Wigder Caves to Slanted Ballot Language
MARC WIGDER CAVES TO SLANTED BALLOT QUESTION DRAFTED "IN CONJUNCTION" WITH TERRA/FRISBIE
At Tuesday's (December 2nd) Council Meeting, the ballot question for "Boca Raton City Center LLC" was discussed -- a question that was not balanced and read like a sales-pitch for the developer. Andy Thomson stated that he understood the question was “prepared in conjunction with Terra and Frisbie.”
Thomson gave a presentation on why the question was slanted and unfair to the voters, and then presented an alternative, more balanced option. Discussion ensued and Marc Wigder took it upon himself at a recess break to edit Thomson's more balanced version and present it. Yet Wigder's attempt to do justice by the voters was short-lived.
Upon Singer removing that balanced version from the big screen and once again replacing it with the original and slanted version, Wigder soon voted to proceed with the slanted version that Singer was lobbying for.
Wigder had no conviction or belief in his own work on the ballot question and he caved shortly thereafter.
Jon Pearlman, the founder of Save Boca, is running for City Council against Marc Wigder for Seat B. Pearlman is not taking a single cent from developers in his campaign and will not cave to pressure from special interests. He will fight for the best interests of the citizens every day as a City Councilman just as he has with Save Boca.
